Electromechanical Supervisor

The Position:

Maintain the company’s assets and ensure that safety, quality and performance targets are achieved. Execute maintenance policy, standards and procedures and ensure reliable and safe equipment. To ensure seamless travel for our customers that is safe, reliable, comfortable and friendly.



R360,000 p/a





Qualifications and experience:

- Grade 12

- Diploma or B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering

- 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance operations

- Computer Literate - MS Word, Power Point and Excel

- Fluent in English


Inherent job requirements:

- Safety management

- Technical knowledge on the required field / equipment’s, especially, pumping, ventilation, air conditioning systems

- General knowledge of railway systems will be appreciated as well as multi skills ability

- Attention to detail

- Sense of urgency

- Planning, organising and co-ordination skills

- Must be assertive

- Must show initiative


Specific responsibilities:

- Ensure assistance during construction phase (FAT and site Acceptance Visits, handovers, design and maintenance document control/review...)

- Manage maintenance sub-contract with respect to safety, quality and technical issues

- Participate of the implementation of the Maintenance Plan.

- Ensure maintenance plan is executed effectively and equipment is running as required.

- Adhere to continuous improvement principles

- Ensure minimum levels of equipment downtime including timely and effective response to breakdowns

- Conduct routine maintenance and maintenance inspections and practice preventative maintenance

- Abide to general housekeeping rules

- Enforce compliance to health and safety practises and regulations and ensure monthly safety audits are conducted.

- Ensure that all agreed routine plant checks and testing are carried out to the specified frequencies and in accordance with Plant Operating Instructions.

- Ensure contractors comply with all applicable regulations.

- Analyze and rectify equipment defects in a timely manner to avoid downtimes.

- Take a proactive role in site projects, representing the engineering function.

- Assist in updating maintenance specifications and procedures.

- Conduct analysis on obsolescence treatment.

- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
