Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) – Sandton

 

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to manage and deliver Building and Construction related projects timeously from pre-contract up to post-contract in accordance to the client requirements and agreement and within the set budget to facilitate successful completion of the project.

 

Salary: R500,000 – R600,000 p/a

 

Location: Sandton

 

Requirements:

- At least a minimum of 8 years plus experience in the field of professional quantity surveying.

- Incumbent must have solid experience in building/construction and engineering projects, with particularly: retail & shopping, leisure & resorts, industrial and health care facilities.

- Incumbent must have worked for a professional consulting firm/organisation specialising in quantity surveying and/or construction cost management.

- Incumbent must be a member of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors.

- Incumbent must be registered with the Council of South African Quantity Surveying Profession.

- Incumbent must be a Professional Registered Quantity Surveyor (PRQS)

- Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Quantity Surveying

 

Responsibilities:

- Establish the client requirements, project brief, needs, preferences and options.

- Prepare and finalise the project concept in accordance with the brief including the scope scale, character, form, function and preliminary programme and viability of the project.

- Develop the approached concept to finalise the design, outline specifications, cost plan, financial viability and programme of the project

- Prepare the construction and procurement documentation that confirms and implements the procurement strategies and procedures for effective and timeous procurement of necessary resources for the execution of the project.

- Manage, administer and monitor the contracts and processes, including the preparation and coordination of the procedures and documentation to facilitate practical completion of the works.

- Fulfill and complete the project close-out including the preparation of necessary documentation to facilitate effective completion, handover and operation of project.
