Content Manager – Sandton


The ideal candidate will be responsible for content sourcing and generation required supporting PR, social media and marketing for multiple business units and territories for their product and third-party accessories. The Content Manager will report to the Communications Executive, work closely with both the Marketing and Communications teams, as well as other internal departments.

Salary: R12,000 – R14,000p/m

 

Location: Sandton

 

Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with internal business units to understand key objectives/messaging requirements and source/generate content that supports these objectives for PR, social media and marketing purposes. 
- Work with the Social Media, Communication and Marketing Managers to develop content plans for each business unit. Re-evaluate the content plans when required. 
- Manage content-flow with key internal business units, Marketing and Communications teams.
- Write, edit, script and evaluate content for:
PR (press releases, case studies, video scripts, invitations, product guides etc)
Social Media (blog posts, video scripts, campaign material etc) 
Marketing (website information, emailer content, radio scripts, advertising copy etc). 
- Drive and manage emailer process which includes content, messaging, segmentation and reporting.
- Evaluate and select the best format to showcase content and messaging ie: video, audio, photography or written content. 
- Research relevant, newsworthy and topical content.
- Maintain a relevant editorial policy across all communications campaigns and platforms, ensuring relevance, consistency and quality of content.
- Brief Creative team or agencies on material required to support content plans. 

Requirements:

- Background in copy writing, journalism or writing.

- An industry related degree/diploma and minimum of two years working experience.
- Strong understanding of content management and storytelling.
- First-rate writing and editing skills, both creative and technical.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in an environment where guidelines and deadlines often change.
- Ability to work independently with high level of initiative.
- Decisive and effective problem-solver.
- Attention to detail.
- Photography, video production & editing an added plus.
- Ability to speak in conceptual and design language, since much work revolves around complementing the textual and the visual is an added plus.
